EqualApp

EqualApp was founded by Stephen Friedfeld and Marc Zawel, who met in the admissions office at Cornell University.
Stephen received a BA from Cornell University, a Ph.D. from Rice University, and is working towards an MA from Columbia University's Teachers College. Prior to founding EqualApp, Stephen was an Assistant Dean of Admissions at Cornell for four years and an Associate Dean at Princeton University for six years. He also worked as an independent college consultant for four years.
As author of Untangling the Ivy League, Marc literally wrote the book on gaining admission to highly selective colleges. Marc received a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from University of North Carolina Kenan Flagler Business School, where he chaired the admissions advisory board and evaluated application essays. He has also conducted alumni interviews for Cornell since 2004.
EqualApp provides students and families with counseling, support and guidance on all aspect of the admissions process including academic advising, college list, admissions strategy, essay writing/editing, interviewing and financial support.
Our counselors are all former college admissions and financial aid officers from highly selective colleges and universities (from Brown, Cornell, Columbia, MIT, Penn, Princeton, etc.), putting them in a unique position to provide the inside knowledge that students need to differentiate themselves and get admitted.
EqualApp's counseling has proven to be highly effective. Our counseling has helped hundreds of students get admitted to more than 125 colleges across the U.S.
