EqualApp - The Team

EqualApp's counselors are all former college admissions and financial aid officers from highly selective colleges and universities (including Brown, Cornell, Columbia, MIT, Penn, Princeton). Below, meet a few.

Claire Goldsby worked in undergraduate and academic advising, at the University of California, Irvine. Claire received a BA from Loyola Marymount University and is an MA in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University.

Jennifer Durán was an Assistant Director of admissions at Columbia University. Jen received a BA from Columbia University and an MPA from the City University of New York. She is co author of The New Rules to College Admissions.

Kleopatra Kyrimi was an admissions officer at Institut d'Etudes Politique de Paris (Sciences Po). Kleopatra received a BA from Cornell University and an MA from Sciences Po Kleopatra speaks fluent French, Spanish, Italian and Modern Greek.

Reena Kamins was Director of Admission for the dual?degree programs between Columbia University, Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Reena received a BA from Brandeis University and an MA in counseling and guidance from New York University.

Lorraine Serra is an award winning graphic designer and college educator with more than 30 years of art and design experience. She provides support to students pursuing studies in the visual arts. Lorraine has a BS in Visual Arts from SUNY Purchase College, an MA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design, and is completing a Graduate Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA.

Brian DeMarco has ten years of experience as an admissions officer at Dickinson College and the University of Pennsylvania. He also has consulted with admissions offices across the country through his work with the College Board. Brian holds a BA from Dickinson College and is fluent in Spanish.

Brett Berkowitz was an Assistant Director of undergraduate admissions at American University for four years where he focused on transfer and freshman admissions. Brett received a BS from Cornell University and is currently pursuing an MBA at American University's Kogod School of Business.

Bart Astor has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education and student financial aid as a director of financial aid and higher education consultant. He has published twelve books, including You Can Afford College (Kaplan).
