Saint Michael's College

1904: With an initial investment of $5,000, Edmundite priests open Saint Michael's Institute. Enrollment: 34 students ages 10 to 22. Tuition and board: $105.

2004: Saint Michael's celebrated its Centennial in an 18-month long celebration featuring special lectures, musical performances and convocations.

2005: Saint Michael's is selected to appear in The Princeton Review's Best 361 Colleges guidebook.

At Saint Michael's College students learn what matters: they learn about the environment, the global community, new media, psychology, international business, world religions and politics. And they learn how to live in a warm, caring community that values independence and diversity as well as close, caring relationships. All this, while being right next to the Green Mountains and Burlington, one of America's greatest college towns.

Last year, the average International student scholarship was about $7,000/year. At this time, International students are available for basically the same awards as US students.

Eligibility: students with an equivalent predicted GPA of 2.5 or higher. The university has a system for predicting students' GPA while factoring in transcripts, recommendation, and personal statement.

Eligibility for receiving merit-based scholarships:

  • Predicted GPA
  • Articulated interest in attending the specific university
  • Background in community work and volunteering

One additional award: Each student who completes the Academic English Program will receive a scholarship of $3,000 or $5,000/year when they begin the undergraduate program. There are no scholarships for English-language or post-graduate programs.
