London South Bank University

As one of London's oldest universities we have been committed to meeting the needs of the city and our students for over 100 years. Since 1892 we've been providing students with relevant real world opportunities, meeting the needs for a profession-focused workforce.
Established as the Borough Polytechnic Institute in 1892, London South Bank University (LSBU) has focused on providing professional opportunity for all who can benefit for well over a century. University's original aim 'to promote the industrial skill, general knowledge, health and well-being of young men and women' remains remarkably similar today.
With over 25,000 students, LSBU is one of the largest universities in London. Students are drawn here from across the globe, throughout the UK and from just around the corner. Flexible courses attract many part-time students and we offer qualifications at a variety of levels.

Main campus is a short walk from many of London's major landmarks and we're at a hub of local transport. Waterloo and London Bridge are some of nearest stations and the London Underground is on doorstep.
University constantly find ways to improve facilities and course content. Recently invested almost £50 million on campus set in the heart of London. A major part of this was the recent opening of new building, K2. This cross-university project features research, teaching and technical demonstration of environmentally sustainable energy systems in buildings.

Our central location is just perfect for getting to know London that little bit better.
You'll find that so many of London's famous landmarks are just a walk away from our Southwark campus. We're ideally located for you to get to know this wonderful city and some of our closest neighbours are Big Ben, the London Eye and Tate Modern. If you know London already you'll quickly realise just how easy it is to get here. The main campus is in the Borough of Southwark, immediately north of the Elephant and Castle. To the north of the campus is Borough Road, where the main entrance is situated, to the west is London Road and to the east is Southwark Bridge Road. At the northwest corner is St George's Circus.
There are two smaller campuses in east London: at Whipps Cross Hospital in the London Borough of Waltham Forest (LSBU at Whipps Cross), and at Havering (LSBU at Havering), diagonally opposite the Harold Wood railway station.
