Richard Language College

Richard Language College is a medium-sized school for adults situated on the south coast of England. The College is situated at the heart of Bournemouth in a safe, high-class residential area near a recreational park and only a short walk away from the Town Centre. Richard College is on a direct bus line to the train station, the beach and the Town Centre. Direct coaches and trains services run on a regular basis between Bournemouth and London. Bournemouth also has good train, bus and coach services that link the town with all the major airports.

Bournemouth is a cosmopolitan, seaside resort where most people speak clear English. The town is a premier seaside resort with the nearby world heritage coast of 12 km of sandy beaches, magnificent parks and gardens. Close to the New Forest, it is favoured with a mild climate and is a centre of culture and entertainment. Good, inexpensive international restaurants abound, many only five minutes’ walk from the College. Bournemouth Town Centre is full of interesting, high-quality shops. The college is accredited by the British Council and was the first English language school in Bournemouth to pass an inspection aimed at maintaining excellence in language schools across the whole of Europe. The inspection was carried out by EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Services). The college specialises in short intensive programmes and enjoys a high reputation, developed over 70 years, for long courses. Courses are open to students of all levels and nationality. Long courses are accessible from the age of 16. Short courses are open to students aged 18 and over. CLAS (Culture Lessons Activities and Sports) junior courses for students aged between 12 and 17 as well as Integra Intensive courses for students aged between 16 and 20 run during the summer. The College offers preparation courses for the IELTS exam as well as the Cambridge CAE and FCE exams. We are also the IELTS testing centre for the region. Richard Language College offers small classes, a good nationality mix and full social programme. Facilities include multi-media resources, free Internet access and cafeteria.

Accommodation will be with one of our experienced British host families. Staying with a host family gives the opportunity to practise what has been learned during the day and absorb English expressions, which only occur in the home or family. Standard or executive rooms are available to adult students with half board during the week and full board at the weekend with full laundry. We also offer self-catering all year round. Integra summer students will be accommodated in a host family single or sharing room also with half board during the week and full board at the weekend with full laundry. Junior students on the CLAS programme will be placed into host family single or shared room with full board.
