Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) is located in Parkland, Washington. The University currently offers academic courses in diverse fields such as College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Arts and Communication, the School of Business, the School of Education and Movement Studies, and the School of Nursing. It also offers programs in pre-medicine and pre-law preparation.
The spacious campus houses a health centre, club sports, library and outdoor sports facilities. There are also student media organizations include Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), MediaLab, KCNS, and The Mooring Mast. PLU's SPJ chapter has been nationally recognized and been named 'outstanding student chapter of the nation'. Members of this chapter are actively involved in a lot of on-campus and off-campus events.
The other prominent feature of the University if that it offers plenty of opportunities for international education. In fact, PLU became the first American university to have students studying abroad on all seven continents at the same time.
PLU has also several successes in the sports field- in the Northwest Conference; PLU has won the All-Sports Trophy more number of times than any other college.
