Wichita State University (WSU) is a public university in Wichita, Kansas (USA). The University was founded in 1895 and has been proudly enrolling international students for over 80 years. We currently have more than 1,400 international students from 110 countries - one of the largest number of international students at a doctoral institution in the U.S. There are approximately 14,500 students enrolled at WSU. Wichita is the largest city in the state and is the cultural, financial, and healthcare center of the state. The city boasts beautiful parks and museums and has one of the lowest cost-of-living indexes in America. The University has many successful alumni in business, engineering, and the sciences. For example, two of alumni started Pizza Hut and the first Pizza Hut in the world is located on the Wichita State University campus.

Wichita State University offers more than 200 bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. programs in Business, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Health Professions, and Arts and Sciences. The University is one of America's national universities and is fully accredited. We are particularly well known for our business and engineering programs. Our business programs are ranked in the top 12% in the U.S. In addition, our renowned Aerospace Engineering program is considered to be among the best graduate programs in America.

Wichita State has a large library with over 2 million items. Our engineering and science laboratories are modern and well equipped. There are over 3,000 computers on campus for free access to the internet and e-mail. The University has its own TV and radio stations. Our beautiful, park-like campus has 65 buildings and is 2 square kilometers in size. The University has a large sports complex, basketball arena, baseball and softball stadiums, a large track stadium, a bowling alley, an 18-hole golf course, and a large tennis complex.

Free computer laboratories are located in each residence hall. In addition, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus (including the residence halls).

Tuition Fees and Funding

The cost-of-living in Wichita is very low - especially in comparison to cities on the coasts. The tuition at Wichita State is also very low - a true educational bargain especially for a university of our caliber. The total cost per academic year for tuition, fees, room and board, books, and medical insurance is approximately US$19,049. Students may apply for scholarships after their first year of study. Students may also work on campus. Last year, Wichita State University awarded over US$700,000 in financial aid to international students.

Starting Dates

All programs may be joined in January, June, or August. Applications are normally processed in about one week.
